Eezum Squeezum and Pretty Polly: (hold hands and sing)

Hey-hey, dorolay, hey-hi, dorolot.

Our tale is ended. Our lesson is taught.

All mortals are blind, be they foolish or wise.

Our play is a riddle for those who have eyes.

Eezum Squeezum:

If you know you are blind, then your way will be clear.

Pretty Polly:

To trust in the world is like kissing a bear.

Two Tumblers emerge and begin acrobatic tricks among the audience. One is the not-so-Blind Man who is cheered by the crowd as he flips and spins. The men perform a clever routine where they end each stunt with a bow in front of a spectator while holding out a box for a donation.

First Tumbler:

A wagon’s our stage in this open air court.

Did we help you to laugh? Did we make merry sport?

Second Tumbler:

Then ladies and gentlemen, be at your ease.

Put your hands in your pockets and pay what you please.

Tom Fool: (walks among people with Dancing Bear and begging bowl)

Warm in the winter beside your fire,

Remember us travelers in muck and mire.

We live on the road with horse and cart.

All Players ask is you love our art.
